Unification of Han

日本列島Japanese archipelagoの人々peopleがなお縄文時代(じょうもんじだい)Jomon periodの生活をしていたころ、大陸the mainlandでは、春秋時代Spring and Autumn periodに続いて晋(しん)Jinが韓(かん)Han・魏(ぎ)Wei・趙(ちょう)Zhaoの三国three kingdomsに分立し、いわゆる戦国時代Warring States period(前403年403 B.C.~前221年221 B.C.)

When the people of the Japanese archipelago were still living in the Jomon period, on the mainland, following the Spring and Autumn period, the Jin dynasty was divided into the three kingdoms of Han, Wei, and Zhao, leading to the so-called Warring States period (403 B.C.-221 B.C.). Has entered.

The Han formed a mighty unified nation, and its culture spread to surrounding ethnic groups.

Yayoi Culture

紀元前400年ごろAround 400 BC、中国Chinaの揚子江(ようすこう)流域the Yangtze River basinから朝鮮半島the Korean Peninsulaを経て渡来cameしたものの中で、日本Japanに大きな影響great influenceを与えたものがいくつかある。

Around 400 BC, some of the things that came to Japan from the Yangtze River basin in China via the Korean Peninsula had a great influence on Japan.

一つ目の影響The first influenceが米作(べいさく)rice farmingの伝来the introductionだった。

The first influence was the introduction of rice farming.

Various stone tools and grains of rice remain at archaeological sites in western Japan.

This shows that the technique of making rice in paddy fields was transmitted through Korea.

Rice farming spread rapidly eastward.

Rice cultivation did not immediately replace hunting and gathering as a means of food security in many areas.

新しい文化The new cultureが縄文文化(じょうもんぶんか)the Jomon cultureと共存coexistedしていたのである。

The new culture coexisted with the Jomon culture.

Rice farming required more collaboration than before.

People settled in one land and formed settlements.

A small farming village developed into a small ruling family country.

And these small nations of powerful clans gradually gathered into several groups for self-defense.

時が経つにつれ、縄文時代(じょうもんじだい)the Jomon periodから続いた狩猟・採集の文化the hunting and gathering cultureは衰退declinedしていった。

As time passed, the hunting and gathering culture that had existed since the Jomon period declined.

Agricultural tools of the Yayoi period

二つ目の影響The second influenceは、鉄や青銅を製造する技術techniques for manufacturing iron and bronzeの伝来introductionである。

The second influence was the introduction of techniques for manufacturing iron and bronze.

Through trade and the influx of people from abroad, the people of the Yayoi period acquired iron tools for farming, such as sickles, plows, and hoes.

Bronze ware of the Yayoi period

In addition, bronze bells (dotaku), mirrors and swords have been found in many parts of Japan.

It is presumed that these bronze items were used in ceremonies as symbols of power.

For example, bronze mirrors were sacred objects of worship at Ise Jingu.

The period from 300 BC to 300 AD is called the Yayoi period.

"Yayoi" is a place name in Tokyo.

It comes from the fact that the first pottery made with the new technology was found there.

The technique of making earthenware probably came from Kyushu along with rice cultivation.
