Daedalion

Autolycus ("Lone Wolf")

Master of stealing and lying。

Lived with his wife Amphithea and his sons near Mount Parnassus.

Anticlea

Became the mother of Odysseus。

Because he was given the power to change the appearance, shape, and color of the stolen thing、アウトリュコスAutolycusが盗みの犯人とされることはなかったというAutolycus was never the culprit of the theft。

Eurytus

From Amyntor's Armory he stole a leather helmet, etc.、牝馬を盗んだときには、エウリュトスEurytusがヘラクレスHeraclesを犯人と勘違いしたため助かったWhen he stole the mare, he was saved because Eurytus misunderstood Heracles as the culprit。

Mount Parnassus

However, Sisyphus was suspected from the beginning and took away all the stolen livestock.

Sisyphus noticed that the number of livestock was gradually decreasing家畜の蹄に刻みをつけ変わった足跡ができるようにしてMake unusual footprints on the hoofs of livestockアウトリュコスAutolycusを追い、盗みを白状させたのであるHe chased Autolycus and confessed his theft。

As atonement, Autolycus allowed Sisyphus to associate with his daughter Anticlea.

Therefore, Odysseus was suspected to be a child of Anticlea and Sisyphus.

Autolycus, who visited Ithaca, named his newborn child Odysseus、それは「憎しみの犠牲」という意味だったためBecause it meant "sacrifice of hatred"、アウトリュコスAutolycusは人々に憎まれたAutolycus was hated by people。

There is also an interpretation that Odysseus was given the name because Autolycus was always angry with the world.

Sisyphus

The founder of the city of Corinth, but initially named the city Ephyra.

Sisyphus was renowned for his cunning and wisdom.

Corinth

For this reason, it was sometimes thought of as being associated with the great thief Autolycus.

Autolycus stole his cattle, but he got it backと言っている。

Sisyphus had a notch on the cattle's hoof in advance、アウトリュコスAutolycusが盗みを否定してもそれが嘘であることが証明できたEven if Autolycus denied the theft, it proved to be a lie。

Anticlea

Then he seduced Autolycus' daughter Anticlea to revenge.

So when she gave birth to Odysseus、彼女の夫・ラエルテスLaertesではなくNot her husband Laertes、シシュポスSisyphusがオデュッセウスOdysseusの父であると噂されたSisyphus was rumored to be the father of Odysseus。

He discovers the corpse of Melicertes、そこに埋葬して彼のためにイストミア競技祭を創始したBurial there and founded the Isthmian games for him。

He also strengthened the nearby high hills of Acrocorinth as a fort with a gazebo.

Aegina

One day Sisyphus saw Zeus kidnapping Aegina in the river nymph, daughter of Asopus river god and Metope.

Zeus took Aegina to Oenone Island and committed there.

アソポスAsopus河神はあとを追って来てthe river god Asopus follow her、シシュポスSisyphusに情報を提供してくれるように求めたのでhe asked Sisyphus to provide information、彼はアクロコリントスに新鮮な泉を湧き出させてくれるならIf he lets Acrocorinth spring a fresh spring、知っていることを教えようと約束したhe promised to teach him what he know。

Thanatos

ゼウスZeusはシシュポスSisyphusが暴露したことに激怒しZeus rages at Sisyphus' exposure、タナトスThanatos(死death)を遣わして彼をハデスHadesの館に連れ去らせようとしたhe sent Thanatos to take him to Hades' mansion。

But the very cunning Sisyphus successfully tricked Thanatos into tying him up、土牢に放り込んだThrown into the dungeon。

Because of that, humans have stopped dying.

So the gods were worried about this anomalous phenomenon and sent Ares to release Thanatos.

Son

Thanatos finds Sisyphus again and takes him to the underworld.

But Sisyphus is prepared for that、妻であるプレイアデスPleiadesの1人メロペMeropeにあらかじめ指示を与えておいたhe gave instructions in advance to his wife Merope, one of Pleiades。

She followed the instructions and did not bury his corpse、慣(なら)わしとなっている供物も亡骸(なきがら)に捧げなかったdidn't even dedicate their customary offering to the corpse。

Persephone

Trying to get Sisyphus to bury his corpse、彼を地上に戻したReturned him to the upper world。

Or Hades' wife Persephone urges Sisyphus to return to the upper world.

However, Sisyphus returned to the upper world and returned to Corinth、ハデスHadesの命令を実行しようとせず暮らしを再開しResume life without trying to execute Hades' orders、冥界the Underworldの神々に逆らって長寿を全うしたCompleted longevity against the gods of the underworld。

Sisyphus

His corpse was punished by Tartarus after his death、彼がゼウスZeusについて告げ口をしたばかりではなくNot only did he tell about Zeus、このような不敬な行為のためであると考えられたIt was thought to be due to such profane acts。

He was punished for rolling a large stone on the hill forever.

Even if the stone is pushed up to the top, it will always roll down.

イストマス Isthmus (コリントス地峡the Isthmus of Corinth)

長くイストマスIsthmus(コリントス地峡the Isthmus of Corinth)に君臨したのち、シシュポスSisyphusはその地に埋葬された。

After a long reign over Isthmus, Sisyphus was buried there.

Calchas

Sinon even more explained that、予言者・カルカスがThe Prophet Calchas said that、もしトロイア人が木馬を燃やせば彼らは破滅するだろうIf the Trojans burn a wooden horse, they will be ruined、だがもし彼らが木馬を城内に入れればトロイアは難攻不落になるだろうBut if they put a wooden horse in the castle, Troy would be impregnableと告げたsaid that、と説明したexplained that。
