グライフ作戦 Operation Greif

グライフ作戦Operation Greifは、バルジの戦いBattle of the Bulgeの間に武装親衛隊Waffen-SSのオットー・スコルツェニーOtto Skorzeny司令官commandoによって指揮commandedされた特別作戦special operationだった。

Operation Greif was a special operation commanded by Waffen-SS commando Otto Skorzeny during the Battle of the Bulge.

ミューズ川 Meuse river

この作戦operationはアドルフ・ヒトラーAdolf Hitlerの思い付きbrainchildであり、その目的its purposeは、それらが破壊destroyedされる前beforeに、ミューズ川Meuse riverに架かっている橋bridgesの1つ以上を捕獲captureすることだった。

The operation was the brainchild of Adolf Hitler, and its purpose was to capture one or more of the bridges over the Meuse river before they could be destroyed.

グライフ作戦 Operation Greif

ドイツ軍兵士German soldiersは、捕らえられたcapturedイギリスBritishとアメリカ陸軍U.S. Armyの制服uniformsを着て、捕獲されたcaptured連合軍の車両Allied vehiclesを使用usingして、連合軍の行列Allied linesの後部rearに混乱confusionを引き起こすcauseことだった。

戦いをやめないバストーニュBastogneはドイツ軍German armyにとって、喉throatに刺さったstuck骨boneのような厄介な存在nuisanceとなっていた。
