小学校の何年生頃だったか、忘れてしまいましたが、学校帰りの途中で、プラモ屋さんに立ち寄って、ショウ・ウィンドウに展示されたプラモ（おそらく、プラモのプロの製作者の手によるものと思われる）を、1時間近く、羨望の眼差しで観ていたことを、覚えています。

I forget what grade I was in elementary school, but on my way home from school, I stopped by a plastic model shop and saw a plastic model displayed in the show window (probably made by a professional plastic model maker). I remember watching it for almost an hour with envy.

1960年（昭和35年）の映画館の入場料は平均72円であったそうだ。

In 1960 (Showa 35), the average admission fee to a movie theater was 72 yen.

当時の映画館の売店では、１個5円くらいのおかきや、酢こぶ、ラムネを売っていた。

At the time, movie theater kiosks sold rice crackers, vinegar and ramune, and ramune for around 5 yen each.

1960年（昭和35年）に日本映画史上で最高製作本数となる547本を製作し、ピークを迎えた。

It reached its peak in 1960, when it produced 547 films, the highest number in Japanese film history.

この年以降、映画産業に翳りが見え隠れするようになった。

観客動員数はこれより先、1958年（昭和33年）の11億人強を最高に、急激に下降し、1963年（昭和38年）には半分以下の5億人強となった。

この背景には1953年（昭和28年）より登場したテレビの急速な普及がある。

テレビは1959年（昭和34年）の皇太子（平成天皇）結婚をきっかけに一般に広く浸透し、1964年（昭和39年）の東京オリンピックでその勢いは加速。

東映は、映画不況が始まった1960年（昭和35年）代から1970年（昭和45年）代初めは鶴田浩二、高倉健、藤純子らを擁して仁侠ブームを作った。

From the 1960s (Showa 35), when the movie recession began, to the early 1970s (Showa 45), Toei created a jinkyō boom with Koji Tsuruta, Ken Takakura, Junko Fuji, and others.

このジャンルの開祖は沢島忠の『人生劇場飛車角』（1963年（昭和38年））といわれ、義理と人情の板挟みにあいながらも自己犠牲を貫く内容だった。

The originator of this genre is said to be Tadashi Sawashima's ``Life Theater: Hishakaku'' (1963), which is about self-sacrifice while being caught between duty and humanity.

以降、『博徒』、『日本侠客伝』、『網走番外地』、『昭和残侠伝』、『緋牡丹博徒』といった任侠シリーズは人気を博し、1972年（昭和47年）頃まで製作された。

Since then, the Ninkyo series such as ``Bakuto'', ``Nihon Kyoukyakuden'', ``Abashiri Bangaichi'', ``Showa Zankyoden'', and ``Hibutan Hakuto'' have become popular and were produced until around 1972 (Showa 47).

Midgetは英語で「超小型のもの」という意味の単語で、小型な車という想いを込めて名付けられた。

Midget is an English word meaning "ultra-small", and the name was given to convey the idea of a small car.
